Project “Integrated Culinary Arts and Restaurant Sector Employment Solutions for a Skilled and Inclusive Romania-Bulgaria Cross Border Region (ICARUS)

The ICARUS project is aimed at increasing employment opportunities in the culinary and restaurant sector in the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Romania. The overall impact of the project should be increased jobseekers' willingness for job mobility and increased attractiveness of the job opportunities in the cross-border region among employers and job-seekers.

The duration of the project is 24 months as the leading beneficiary is Dobrudja Agrarian and Business School (DABS) Association -Dobrich, Bulgaria, and a partner in the initiative is the "Choose your profession" association - the ATP - Constanta, Romania. Due to the similarity in the economic development of the cities by sectors on both sides of the Danube River and the levels of employment and competence, as well as staff shortages, ICARUS focuses on some of the leading and emerging sectors, namely the culinary arts and the restaurant business. The development of thе resorts on the Black Sea coast falling within the cross-border region of Bulgaria - Romania, as well as the location of the partners implies a deeper research and work, respectively, in the regions of Dobrich and Constanta.
